Villa Pepita

With its straw roof, white stripes and wooden pergolas, Villa Pepita has the air of a cozy fisherman’s hut. Inside, the touches of arty duck blue warm the immaculate walls and the pearl gray waxed concrete. Handcrafted pendant lights, wicker furniture and woven tapestries give the decor a bohemian feel. Mismatched chairs with a Scandinavian look have been arranged around the beautiful mottled wooden table, bringing a touch of modernity. On the shelves of the large library, books and glass vases rub shoulders with the trinkets bought at the hippie market. In the rooms, seaside furniture and contemporary art mingle with African inspirations, with photos of the savannah and colorful prints. We have breakfast in the shade of the pergola, admiring the view of the Mediterranean garden populated by migratory birds and lizards. The wilderness seems to stretch as far as the eye can see. Crossing fields and rice fields, you return to Praia Do Pego beach. On the stilt terrace of the Sal restaurant, you can savor a dish of clams sprinkled with lemon juice while listening to the sound of the waves. Back at the villa, we will swim a few lengths in the beautiful swimming pool to cool off or drink a mojito with our feet in the sand.
